RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- The First Annual "Go Dog Go" show was held to raise money for local animal rescue and advocacy efforts. People, and more than 90 dogs of all types, were invited to the Pause Dog Boutique, a Rhinebeck community shop, for the event.

Prizes were awarded for divisions including Bad Hair Day, Most Mysterious Heritage, Celebrity Look Alike and more.

A dog food collection also took place to distribute to local pets in need through the "Have a Heart" Foundation. All proceeds from the event will go toward "HeARTS Speak", which connects artists with shelters and animal relief organizations to save and better the lives of animals and people.

Owner of the Pause Dog Boutique, Laura Betti said the event is held to celebrate dogs and teach people about rescue and care.

Laura Betti, Pause Dog Boutique Owner said, “There's an organization that’s been founded called HeARTS Speak and they are working on a global level to do just that. To spread the word about rescue and advocacy and educate people. for us it's all about bridging the gap between not only pure bred owners, but also people who have rescue dogs and letting them know about inhumane breeding practices, just the not so good stuff happening surrounding dogs around the world and our country."
