There is no verdict yet in the Scott Chaplin murder trial. Chaplin is accused of killing Rosemary Crosier back in 1994. Our Erin Connolly has been following the case and has the latest.

TROY, N.Y. -- Jurors in the Scott Chaplin Murder trial wrap up their first day of deliberations without a verdict.

Two jurors have been dismissed in the Scott Chaplin murder trial. The court cited legal reasons, but did not give any more information about the situation.

Chaplin has been charged in the 1994 murder of Rosemary Crosier.

The prosecution spent less than an hour with their closing statement, focusing on the fact that Chaplin's teeth marks were found in a paper towel at the scene, speculating that he bit the paper towel as he cleaned up the murder scene.

The defense says the prosecution didn't prove anything and there is too much reasonable doubt to convict him.

"Who knows who did it. You're going to convict this man. You’re going to convict this young man on this proof? God forbid. God forbid. I'm done," said Fred Ackerman, Chaplin’s defense attorney.

"After 18 years, today's judgment day for this defendant. After 18 years, I submit to you the evidence in this case mandates that justice delayed will not be justice denied," said special prosecutor Robert Becher.

Chaplin's DNA was found at the murder scene, but the defense says that it was there prior to her death because Chaplin was having an affair with Crosier.
