WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- People in White Plains get a chance to comment on the MTA's proposed fare hike. The public comment period is today at Westchester County Center.

Fares who ride the Long Island Railroad and Metro-North Railroad are facing an increase. Under the proposal, most ticket prices would go up between eight and nine percent.

The agency’s board will vote on the proposals by the end of the year.

MTA board members are expected to announce a decision on the proposed increases sometime next month.

Charts outlining the proposed prices for specific stations and types of tickets are available online at www.mta.info.
