ULSTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Thanksgiving Eve is one of the biggest bar nights of the year and law enforcement is reminding people to play it safe.

Ulster County Sheriff's deputies say many people are home from college and it's become somewhat of a tradition to re-unite at the bars. Deputies want to remind drivers who are going to be out to have a game plan. They say there are plenty of options if you have had one too many.

"You want to make sure you have a designated driver or arrange for a taxi driver. Stay where you are going, if you can, or you can walk. You know grab one person if you can to drive everyone around. We want everyone to have a good time but we will be out there looking," said Ulster County Sheriff Paul VanBlarcum.

And a fair warning: The sheriff says there will be increased patrols out Wednesday night looking for impaired drivers. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
