KINGSTON, N.Y. -- A local pastor is taking the trip from Kingston to Newtown, Connecticut to try to ease the pain for victim's families. This weekend, the St. James United Methodist Church in Kingston offered up special prayers of remembrance for the victims of Friday's shooting.

Children from the church also created one foam angel for each of the 20 students who lost their lives.

Monday, a pastor from St. James distributed the angels to the families.

“One of the children said, ‘well what about foam angels? What about something that could hang on the tree and be there not only now but in the future and not to cause someone to have further pain?’ The pain’s already going to be there. Sometimes we think if we have something that reminds us that’s not a good thing, but actually most counselors would tell you that having someone say we remember, really can help a family,” said Dave Jolly, Pastor at St. James United Methodist.

The angels will be passed out through the Methodist Church in Newtown. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
