Some people are looking on the bright side. With all this snow, shoveling is good exercise. If you do it right. Christian Farrell has more on yet another wintery day in the Hudson Valley.
MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- North Street in the City of Middletown looked very "north-polish" Saturday. A steady snow fall blankets the city for the second time this week.
"This is winter. This is what it's all about. We got to get out and enjoy it. And if you get out and enjoy it, it's warm," said Mickey Guarino of Middletown.
Enjoying it in Middletown according to Guarino means actually having to go "to school" even when it’s closed.
"Board of Education Hill. Kids love it," said Guarino.
"The first snow was already good because it was packed down and you could go super fast. But this snow is more light, so you can't go as fast unless you pack it down. But it's still fun," said Nicholas Moore of Middletown.
Certainly more fun than this: Shoveling detail. Now on Wisner Avenue, the job of snow removal has become more or less a neighborhood thing. Just ask Wisner Avenue resident and the day's designated snow blower, Al Thorenz.
"We have two snow blowers and we have four families that went all in on it. So, it's nice. We get a chance to, if you will, socialize a little bit just doing the work," said Thorenz.
Well, the way it's shaping up thus far, it appears there's going to be of plenty of chances to chat on Wisner Avenue this winter.
