Kingston ringing in the new year with 1913 celebration

  • Text size: + -

KINGSTON, N.Y. -- Kingston will celebrate New Year's Eve with a historic party on Monday night.

Residents will gather in the Stockade District to celebrate like they would have 100 years ago.

The 1913 Celebration will take the city back to its pre-prohibition era. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in period clothing as they enjoy a variety of food, drinks and entertainment from that era.

The celebration will take place at several different restaurants and bars around the Stockade District and culminates with the city's first ever ball drop.

And for those of you heading into Kingston for the 1913 Celebration, we have some traffic restrictions to tell you about. Beginning at 7 p.m., no traffic or parking will be allowed on Wall Street from John Street to North Front Street. These restrictions will be in place until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
