POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A fallen officer is honored on the second anniversary of his death. Officer John Falcone was shot while responding to a domestic dispute near the train station in Poughkeepsie in February 2011.

A memorial monument was presented in his honor Monday, which marks the spot Falcone was shot and killed.

Police say Lee Welch shot his wife, Jessica, in a car before Falcone arrived. When Officer Falcone confronted him, Welch fired two shots, one of which hit and killed Falcone. Another officer at the scene wrestled with Welch, before Welch shot himself in the head.
