ALBANY, N.Y. -- With the cold weather the last few days, it may not feel like spring is coming. But this weekend, the New York State Museum will have a spring look.
The annual New York in Bloom fundraiser runs from Friday through Sunday. The event features more than 100 floral displays throughout the museum, all to help raise money for the museum's children's programs.
One of the first displays visitors will see is in the lobby is the "Once Upon a Time" theme. It has several items from the museum's collection.
“We do about 3,000 stems for our display. And it takes probably about a thousand hours between all the planning, coordinating, staff, labor, getting it all put together. But it's all worth it, it's a great program,” said David Michael Schmidt, Renaissance Floral Design.
The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
