PINE BUSH, N.Y. -- It was an event that's out of this world, as thousands packed the streets of Pine Bush for the annual UFO Festival and Parade.
It's been called the UFO capital of New York State, and Sunday both believers and non-believers were dressed in alien costumes.
The chairperson of the festival said it's a great way to showcase the Orange County hamlet.
"A lot of people, when I say Pine Bush, when I say the Town of Crawford specifically, they are like, ‘Where is that?’ They do not know it is even in the County of Orange. So, when you say Pine Bush they kind of know and they know this little strip of area has nice little shopping and eateries and stuff, but we want more people to know than did know. So, that was the idea of bringing them in and giving them something fun to do; and then, they'll know we are here,” said Domanie Ragni, Pine Bush UFO Festival Chairperson.
The full day of outer space activities included a 5K race, live music, food, and a parade.
