HUDSON VALLEY, N.Y. -- Talk about staying cool on a hot day. Two workers managed to pull themselves to safety and walk away unscathed after a support platform gave way and left them hanging from the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge.

The incident happened while they were painting one of the bridge's spans. Luckily, both men were wearing their safety harnesses.

Traffic was stopped for only a short time and officials with the Bridge Authority say they're looking into what happened to make sure it doesn't happen again.
