OLIVE, N.Y. -- The town of Olive celebrates the 40th annual Olive Festival to mark the end of the summer.
According to organizers, more than 2,000 people participated in the weekend's events. They said the event grows every year. More than 25 vendors came out this year's Olive Festival.
Local leaders said its truly a community event.
"When you come down to the bottom line of the whole thing, it benefits the town in this respect: everybody meets one another and for one day they're all friends," noted Berndt Leifeld, Town of Olive Supervisor.
Leifeld added this year will be his last year as town supervisor.
