ALBANY, N.Y. -- The winning billboard for a student contest to fight texting and driving was unveiled at Routes 155 and Central Avenue in Albany.

Students at Colonie Central School District were tasked with coming up with a billboard to encourage people to stop texting while driving.

The winner says she hopes the billboard will make people pay attention to the important message.

"I hope that they'll understand it's really not safe to text while on the road. It can happen to anybody and I hope that people stop texting," said Haylie Zemplinski, a 10th grade student.

More than 45 graphic and digital photography students submitted ideas. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
